Welcome to the End

It’s been a long year huh.

There’s a lot of things that happened this year — so much that it can get hard to keep track of. But, locally it’s been the usual… kind of.

Moving where I store the VODS, working on an image toy thing, revamping my website with a new makeover… and a lack of videos, admittedly. I get into it here, don’t worry.

Anyways.

Why don’t we take a trip down memory lane?

Looking Back

Events

ABYSSATHON

Was a fun time. I liked returning to Yakuza 0 after so long — it’s a good game. Gotta love the mandatory in-between segment of long streams where I fuck around and look at random internet shit — especially with the old times I did that too. Friends dropped by, and the whole shebang.

EXTRALIFE 2025

As with most Extralifes recently, I felt a bit down that I didn’t reach the goal. However, I thought the concept was nice, and people did drop in. Whole thing was less of a pain to work with, and although people didn’t take me up on those incentives as much as I thought, the whole thing still raised enough. Not to mention the Lap 2 where I played Umineko. Felt like a good draw to pull people in, even if I added buffers in between. That did work to raise up more money — and overall it was definitely a marked improvement over 2024.

Misc. Series

Track ‘n Void

There was only ever the one, and it was mostly an excuse to play some DEMOS I was interested in, alongside more Blue Prince because I couldn’t help myself. I think I fit better with single-topic games that eventually break out into chaos, the thing that pulls me back is mostly the undiscoverability of the whole thing. After all, who’s gonna check out random bullshit by someone they never heard of? Not that that should stop me but… still.

Also a lack in ideas as well. Doesn’t help that there’s a very long log of games I want to either start or finish, and it doesn’t seem like that’s stopping anytime soon. A distraction from that ends up feeling like I’m putting other things off so…

Void Sprint

Again, only the one. It sure starts off well though: #1 | weird stuff in a corru.observer music playlist and also tuoy time | VOID SPRINT

Love messing with audio reverberations.

But yeah, this was supposed to be a corru.observer stream but my friend who I’ve been playing these games for couldn’t join in and I said, well. Why not just fuck around? So I turned it into a Void Sprint and, it was fun. I think when I’m tired or just done with the normal streaming, slapping on a Void Sprint is nice. It helps that it’s short. As long as I enter with some ideas of what I want to do.

Hell, maybe splitting the names up by length should be done posthumously. When scheduled, they can be a Chaos Rift or something — then they transform into a Void Sprint, Track & Void, or Fitness and Abyss Pacer Test. Don’t question the names — I think they originated from the ABYSSATHON.

I also showed off how my tool works — which was pretty fun! It was nice to ask for prompts and work with them. Maybe that could be something I base Chaos Rifts around. I was doing live experimentation as well.

Complete

Duck Detective

I think the next one came out, and I’m definitely interested in seeing that. This was a funny lil mystery, and I adored the fact that I have a quack button. Comedy works well for me, and it’s cute. quek

Blue Prince

Ohohoho. This game was fantastic. I wonder if it’s gotten updates in all this time — if so I should check it out again. There’s also my notes which provide comprehensive information about most stuff in the game. It’s wild — could share that. All in all, a brilliant game that took over my mind for a couple of weeks.

Tears of the Kingdom

Ahhhhh this game. It’s a fine game — but I wasn’t engaging with most of it if I’m honest. Was still a fun experience! Just, the game didn’t surpass Breath of the Wild to me, which managed to take over for a while and felt pretty nice ‘n novel. The Retcons, the mechanics, the storydear god the story.

Anyways. It still had its great moments. I’ll always remember trying to make some horrendous behemoth of a vehicle, only for it to spin around and hit me in the face. Just messing around with recall which — as broken as it was, was still fun. It never got old.

So yeah, it’s a good game. Just doesn’t live up to BotW. I hope the next one changes the plot up a bit, mayb stop doing retcons, and think a bit more about solutions.

Great God Grove

Fun lil game. It was cute, and nice to work through. Also was nice being a lil beast.

Unfair Flips

It sure was unfair flips. Didn’t take long but, hey. Was rewarding when I got an ending.

Rhythm Doctor

10 years in the making. Like goddamn, I remember back when this was a flash game with just 3 levels. The Insomniac track was wiiiiiild — my first exposure to rhythm game gimmicks. I remember the STARBOY track which was my first exposure to that as well, and got the song stuck in my head. I think that level disappeared from thin air — which, fair. Copyright and all that.

Then there’s the level editor and all the weird levels that came out of that… I think back then it was a standalone thing? Then the Early Access came out yeeeaaars ago and it was great too — left me wondering where the game was going. Then the final version released and… well. Loved the ending. It was worth the wait. Stellar game, glad I held on.

CloverPit

You mean to tell me there’s a Roguelite where you have an actual slot machine? How could I resist? Little did I know that it had ascensions that progress the story, not to mention all the secrets. Game likes to make you guess about the little things huh. Like, why would you want a 666? Turns out, there are reasons. I won’t spoil them though.

GRIS

I’ve heard of this game suuuch a long time ago, though honestly all I knew was the name. Then I give it a shot and it’s a gorgeous fun game where you explore. A cute lil emotional journey — not to mention the little guy you meet. Did I say it was gorgeous? Cause…

Demos

ENA — Dream BBQ

Godddddd. This game cannot start coming out soon enough. It was soooo right up my alley. Just a delightful experience. I still find it very funny that I accidentally got the Purge Route first. I just wanted to explore and got curious, and before I knew it I was locked into a path I had no idea was even a path. I think this is the first time that a DEMO took me 2 streams to go through as a result. I don’t usually replay games just for endings unless they provide some timeline thing but… For ENA? It’ll do.

Dice A Million

Oh boy I really got obsessed about this one. This is the second demo — because it’s a full on game by itself. Like jesus there’s so much already there — and I loved the dice mechanic and how it was used. Can’t wait for the full release.

Dominova

Fun lil game about dominos, chaining them and having that chain pay off. Bosses are anthros, and the chain reaction thing is fun all around. Not sure I fully know the right strategy — but it’s another big demo. Definitely recommended.

Outhold

An incremental tower defense? Don’t mind if I do. At least I’m interested — it reminds me of Infinitode. I really like how it lets you reassign points at no cost — makes experimentation easier to work with.

Effulgence

I’ll be honest, I didn’t connect with this game. Seems good though! Nice aesthetic too. Just not my cup of tea.

Hell Maiden

Oh boy this reminds me of why I liked Vampire Survivors so much. It’s fun to grow a build and merge stuff together. Not to mention the special powers. Though goddamn that final boss is rough.

Stackflow

Tetris as a roguelite. That’s all I needed to know. The DEMO was limited in depth, but I did find myself playing it over and over again just cause I loved the idea in general. Not sure what the full game has to differentiate from the demo but… I’m interested.

Continuing

Alan Wake 2

You better believe that I want to continue this. I’ve wanted for a while, just struggled to find the time to slot it in. But with CONTROL Resonant coming out… yeah it’s kicking my ass back into gear. But also I switched to Linux and had to figure that logistical problem. Turns out it was trivial — just use the Heroic Games Launcher and it works. Apart from that, basically flawless. I could even migrate my saves.

corru.observer

I have no idea how much of the game is left, since it seems like a work in progress still — but it’s a real fun game with a nice environment to explore and lore to try and make sense of. What exactly happened? We have an idea and that’s it. The Signal was probably a bad thing, turns out. Whod’ve thought.

Umineko

Started this during EXTRALIFE’s Lap 2, and boy howdy. I mean I do wanna see where it goes, but I think the sleep deprivation combined with the telenovela nature of it, except with somehow less drama until that one argument, just didn’t help. Apparently it’s gonna get real soon… so I’ll hold onto that.

Lumines ARISE

Are you kidding? It’s by the same people behind Tetris Effect. I’m obsessed about this game.

Deltarune

Ah Deltarune. Suddenly you have two new chapters, and I hear about the Spamton thing that happened a while ago — and then I’m thrown into the whirlwind of both those chapters. You really just surprised the living shit out of me right there — I didn’t expect nearly that much. For some reason, I guess. I genuinely have no idea how Chapter 5 will roll out, how different will the Weird Route be?

…what other horrific shit will that Route have?

I think, if not know, that it’ll relate to Asgore in some way. I don’t exactly remember why, but I think it’s because of the fields of pink and gold. Which… also evoked FRIEND imagery. So god knows what that chapter will bring, especially with CH. 4 having just revealed the…

well. I shan’t say. Just incase.

OFF

I don’t exactly remember why I took a pause from this game, but I’ve basically done all but the finale of the game. All 3 first acts, only one finale remaining. So…

Well, there’s all the secretaries in the Third Zone to get, especially with the boss. I wonder if that does anything, maybe not. Probably the same 2 endings.

Limbo

UFO 50

I genuinely can’t believe I forgot about this game. I need to pick it up again. How did I forget? Should I even keep my save? I don’t even remember a single game in the entire thing I think… Maybe I’ll play it offline.

Balatro

We’ve had a good run. Maybe there’s some more mods to check out — but I feel like we’ve covered enough.

Offworld Trading Company

When this thing gets streamed is based off of vibes more than anything. It’s fun doing this with Coz, I just… forget to bring it up. And forget how to not get our asses beat by the AI.

Caves of Qud

Speaking of getting my ass beat by the AI, jesus christ this game is hard. I don’t even know where to begin to begin. I feel like I keep dying at the tutorial. Hell am I sposed to do. I got used to Noita but this is ridiculous lmao.

Abyss

The Roottrees Are Dead

I really did just forget about this whole thing huh. The mystery was cool but I’m not entirely sure how interested in it I was. I barely remember anything now.

Dungeons & Degenerate Gamblers

Good roguelite. Fun concept. But after some time it feels like I’ve explored all there is. I probably haven’t but…

Ballionaire

balls

Firebreak: FBC

hi pony — yeah I played this game with Pony and I’m not one to play multiplayer games w/o a friend, so I ended up not playing since our time zones are off kilter, and I don’t think any other friends have this game. Still don’t regret the purchase though.

Tetris The Grandmaster 4

God I’ve been waiting for this thing for so long. It’s still getting updates. I’m glad that it’s working out. I lack the discipline to etch away at it regularly – but I love occasionally booting it up and giving it a shot. I “won” normal mode — though I guess pass is a more accurate word.

LAD: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii

Ah RGG.

This game is the first rock I think. And I struggle to think of why. The most I can come up with is the plot — I just don’t care about it. Magical medicine, the radioactive island which we already knew about, the amnesia — hell, Majima. There’s rarely serious moments, and the entire thing is him acting as comedy or as a paper cutout of a “hero” in some cases — which other games also had, but this game lacks anything serious to counter it.

There is seriousness — but it’s not weighty, important, or intriguing enough to me to follow along.

And lastly, I think any remaining ounce of interest I had melted away when I heard about Kagawa, and how RGG is hiring a sex offender for Kiwami 3. Also delisting the first 3 Yakuzas in favour of re-remasters that are not worth it. Barely anything gets added, for a higher price, and more storage use. What’s the point.

I have no idea where this company is going. But I know Nagoshi has his own studio now, and they just announced a new game. So I might just move on over — at least for now.

Peglin

Okay, now we’ve seen all there is to see. This thing’s been in progress over years.

Luck Be A Landlord

I can see why people like it, and it can be fun — but for some reason it just does not click with me. I was moreso frustrated than anything, until the run where I won, and then I just felt relief. Then all that remains is higher ascensions and… nah I’m good.

Nubby’s Number Factory

A fun game that felt like it doesn’t have much else to find — different characters don’t add much, and last I checked even the small additions didn’t do much. I remember the Prestige Tony thinking it’d be more interesting, but it is just restarting the campaign with a higher difficulty. Good game, but y’know. I squeezed it.

Q-UP

I got a lot of my fill on coin flipping. I’ll probably check it out offline but, in the meantime just flip a coin and imagine numbers going up really fast. Then imagine me screaming at the high numbers. You’ll get the same experience, basically.

Looking Forward

Games

ZEIZEN

Made by the guy behind CRITTERS FOR SALESonoshee. I’m obsessed about the aesthetic and execution of their games, so of course I’m excited for this one, especially with its weird premise.

People look freakish, and the subtitles spanning the entire screen looks trippy in a nice way. Not to mention the whole concept where you… seemingly browse a Central Bank that’s alive and labyrinthian, in order to pull a $10B heist.

I mean what?

Broken Reality 2000

Will it actually come out in 2026? Hopefully. Will I lose my shit when it does? Yes. Broken Reality was wild — so I can only imagine what this one will be like. I’m mostly hoping for more exploration, navigation, puzzles — maybe a bit more polish? I still remember that bug in the original Broken Reality where I ended up losing saves.

Desktop Explorer

A game akin to Hypnospace Outlaw? Say no more. Well, I will say more.

The game is said to come out in Q2 2026, and you basically browse an old computer to perform a bit of an investigation. The tags mention Psychological Horror as well which… what? The most I can guess from what I’ve seen is that it’ll have a bit of an ergodic nature — I don’t know. Mostly cause of mentions of a cave that’s travelled…

Denshattack!

Gotta love driving as a silly vehicle and doing tricks. Reminds me of Snakeybus.

ZWAARD

Looks right up my alley, what with the level of experimentation and the pixelly look.

CONTROL Resonance

Bro. I’m obsessed about CONTROL. Of course I’m hyped about this one. What do you mean fractal pigeons?

TÖLT

By the legend behind the ENIGMA Series. About being a horse. Totally nothing ominous. Just go hyperspeed and spin, it’s fine. This one even has a DEMO. Maybe I should play it… Oh who am I kidding, I probably will. If I can remember.

Amongst Others…

I’m definitely missing some others here, that haven’t been DEMOs. If you’re thinking I missed stuff like Dice A Million or Deltarune’s Chapter 5 — nah. They’re in their own sections above — after all, they were a part of 2025 right?

Editing…?

I’ll be honest, editing has been a slog. The process is the same, but that’s kind of the issue. It’s not fun, most people hate the process and see it as a necessary part of making something — but to me, editing stream footage into highlights hasn’t really felt rewarding.

I’m not talking analytics wise mind you, if that was the case I would’ve quit a long time ago. No, it just stopped feeling worthwhile. I don’t internally find the point to making videos — before the point was that I’d watch them back in the future, or others would derive some enjoyment from them. And hey, sometimes they do, but most of the time it lies still into the void, never to be found.

Beyond that, it doesn’t feel fulfilling. To the point where, instead, I’ve been considering doing scripted videos instead. Or semi scripted — I don’t know, something that isn’t just editing stream highlights down. Break the monotony. Until then, shorts will be the way to go. It’s slow, but that at least keeps itself going, considering a Short is easy to push out, and any work on a Short is also work towards making a video. Plus Shorts make big numbers and that’s good for my monkey brain.

Limbus…?

Ahhhh Limbus. Kind of abandoned this out of nowhere. Didn’t even upload a bunch of footage, like from the intermission. You won’t be surprised to hear that the Gacha elements put me off — but moreso because they have mangled the gameplay into a state where I’m not as excited to play. Ruina at least only needed me to win a fight to get Specific Cards, and more often than not I ended up getting them. Consider also that not getting the Page is a pain in the ass that no one likes.

So replace that with a system that needs you to grind 3 Mirror Dungeons a week, with each session taking around an hour to complete, in order to get enough currency to slightly gamble at a small chance of getting the thing you needed, or building up resources to craft what you want exceedingly slowly — and I hope you can see why I’m not as excited here. I can’t bring myself to care about teambuilding, when to build a coherent team I need to sift through god knows how many identities and rely on LUCK.

On the other hand, the story. I do want to explore more of it. And it seems like the mirror dungeon has become less annoying, or a pain. I’m not at the point where I’ll pay for a Season Pass again yet, but I’m dipping my toes. Don’t get your hopes up, but I might try continuing it in 2026. Who knows.

Chaos Rifts

Also known as my current impulsive name for the following:

  • Void Sprints — short.
  • Track & Void — medium. (normal stream)
  • FAPT — long.

Haven’t done these much, reasons listed under their own sections — but I do have some ideas. For example, I can use these to show off my tool — people prompt me for inputs, and I mess around and craft an output.

Another idea is programming — the problem being that I’m not 100% on how to do that in a way that laymen could be interested. So I’ve kinda kept that whole thing on the backburner.

Throwback to the MOTHMAN stream which was completely improvised and actually worked out really well. Problem being that it’s hard to find topics I actually trust enough to fill up a whole stream or something.

End

Well, that’s been 2025! I have no idea what 2026 has in store — at least ENBYSS wise, but they usually tend to be surprising in some way. So I guess we shall see! Have a good new year everyone.
